Sometimes I love my job. The other day I had to do a story on the California Conservation Corps helping to save Pigs Lake. The lake is just a little pond that is getting its banks eroded away from the Mokelumen River consistently bashing against them. Without the lake there would be a huge loss of habitat for hundreds of animals as well as damaging flooding in the town.

Getting to the lake was the fun part. I got to ride in the back of a Kubota ATV with my feet dangling out as we drove through the trails at Lodi Lake. I leaned back, looked up at the tree’s hovering by, breathed deeply and just relaxed.
